Beneficial bacteria work in conjunction with pond aeration to restore and maintain the health of your pond. Bacteria, algae and aquatic weeds compete with one another for available nutrients such as phosphorus. This is a battle usually won by the beneficial microbes (such as Aquatron™) because of their ability to rapidly uptake nutrients. Aquatron™ has a very rapid rate of absorption and can markedly improve degraded ponds and lakes by increasing water quality and clarity. Aquatron™ is composed of a few unique classes of bacteria (microbes) that all perform beneficial tasks.

The microbes consume nutrients making them unavailable for algae. This keeps the water clear. They are naturally occurring and pose no threat to fish, amphibians, mammals, birds, plants or people. Aquatron™ does not contain any chemicals and is completely safe to use and apply. Aquatron™ is best applied at water temperatures of 50° or higher. The first time that you use this product, use twice the normal dose. You cannot hurt anything by using too much. After the initial dose, microbes are added every 2 weeks (or as needed) during the pond season, from April through October.
